" What is a Liberal", asjed my 11 year old daughter the other day. I thought about how to create a definition that she could understand without prejudicing or stereotyping. After some thought I replied that a liberal is most likely a son or daughter of someone from the WW2 generation. Product of a family that worked hard, believed in America, went to church, and had a conservative lifestyle. YET...that son or daughter found that living up to their parents expectations were just too difficult. That personal restraint too hard, that religion to strict, and conservatism didn't fit in with their new "if it feels good do it" philosophy. Realizing that emulating their parents would be too difficult and result in their own failure, the liberals adapted an agenda, change the playbook. Instead living in the shadow of their parents, why not just change the rules. Make religion laughable, create an endowment mentality, ensure liberal personal freedoms, and end conservative ideals. Its much easier to live as a child than become an adult, and that is just what a liberal is.
